The time has come to sell my beautiful TVR Chimaera 450. I have owned this vehicle since February 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed my 10 years of ownership, but sadly it doesn't get used as much as it should, so time to let someone else enjoy it.
It is a 1999 facelift Chimaera with the more desirable 450 engine, and power steering fitted. The Cherry Red metallic paint really pops and is in stunning condition having had a front end respray in 2022. The black mohair roof was new last spring so is immaculate and watertight. The interior is adorned with all the Leven turned aluminum goodies and aluminum dash. The magnolia leather interior goes perfectly with the exterior colour, and is in great condition. This car really does present beautifully.
The car drives beautifully, sitting on Gas Gold Pro coil over suspension that can be dialed in to give you the handling you desire. The engine is strong and pulls well throughout the rev range making a beautiful noise along the way. Pre-cats have been removed to let the engine run as designed and I have never had an issues come MoT time. The spark plug extenders has been removed and replaced with DEI Lava & Titanium protection boots and the ignition system fully refreshed. A new radiator fitted at the last service. The gearbox is strong with all gears selecting positively. This car has never wanted for anything and has been meticulously maintained throughout it's life.
All the usual TVR issues have been addressed. It's had new outriggers, the Hot Start mod kit fitted, spark plug extenders removed, Anderson connector for jumping/ charging, and as mentioned front end respray and new roof. Probably loads of other improvements too that I cannot remember right now!
The Chimaera has a large folder overflowing with history, including Full Service History, always looked after by TVR dealers (back in the day!) and since specialist including Leven, Central TVR and Powers. Also included is Steve Heaths 'bible' and the original showroom brochure and marketing material, plus a few magazine features I've picked up over the years,
You'll see in the photos the Chimaera also comes with the coveted Leven hood cover, on the occasions is has been parked outside this as been fitted and it protects the roof perfectly from the elements. Also included are a box full of various spare parts and the jump leads to interface with the pre-fitted Anderson connector.
This TVR has been to Le Mans and Spa and countless weekends away across the UK. It really is a stunning example with all the history there, and it gets attention everywhere it goes!

I dreamed of owning a TVR ever since being at school and finally in 2014 find myself in a position to be able to buy one. I searched for over six months for the perfect example and this was it. Perfect condition, great history and with the sublime 450 engine in a gorgeous colour I had to have it!
Don't waste you time with a 400, get the Chimaera of choice and go for the 450, you won't regret it!
