Description
1982 Saab 99 Turbo 1985cc 145hp RHD 87000m ULEZ Compliant
Designed by the famous Swedish industrial designer Sixton Sason, an extremely rare recently restored late Saab 99 Turbo in Cardinal Red. With its aerodynamic body, clamshell bonnet, curved aircraft windscreen, the Saab 99 is extraordinarily strong being made from thick high-quality low-carbon steel. This Saab 99 injection car was one of the first ‘affordable’ Turbo models, massively out-performing its 99 carburetor predecessor, and was the prototype for the latter 900 Turbo.
The bodywork has been fully restored with all the rust cut out from the usual places, ‘properly’ replaced with metal and painted in its original Saab Cardinal Red with the iconic 15-inch Inca wheels. The car interior is just as good as the exterior and retains the original Saab wonderfully comfortable red velour seats in very good condition and comes with a spare cover set. It has a sporty three-spoked wheel and of course the dash mounted turbo gauge.
Mechanically overhauled by Saab specialists, this car drives beautifully with all the power you would expect from the Turbo engine. It accelerates strongly with that reassuring turbo whistle, the gear change is smooth and it holds the road like a train. It's a real head turner and an absolute delight to drive.
