Description
My son bought the car 6 years ago when he was 18 but as he now lives and works in London he is regrettably having to sell it.
It was a very solid car when he bought it but improvements have been made both mechanically and cosmetically.
It now has a new Haartz Sonn red, mohair hood from Prestige Autotrim, refurbished seats and trim, new carpets and seat belts, refurbished wire wheels and 4 new tyres. Mechanically it is very sound and runs really well with no overheating issues and a good oil pressure.
The car would benefit from a re-spray. There is one small area of rust at the rear nearside underneath the bumper, so not very visible.
Since he has owned the car it has always been kept in a dehumidified garage and only taken out in fine weather, although we did get caught once when coming back from Goodwood Revival but the new hood kept the rain out. The car was first registered on 8 June 1967 and the original green log book shows 3 owners. An old MOT certificate from 1974 shows the mileage at 17, 795 but this is where the paper trail ends until we bought the car from a collector who bought it as a barn find. He re-commissioned it and entered it for an MOT on 24. 06. 2017 when the mileage was listed as 20, 630. My son bought the car from him in July 2018. The mileage is now showing as just over 22, 000 miles. Please draw your own conclusions as to whether the mileage could be genuine.
