Description
Ford consul, Capri 1962. All original panels. There are 3 previous owners. MOT and Tax Exempt.
This car was bought brand new in Malaysia by a soldier and imported into the UK in 1970- hence the H registration. It was owned by him for 38 years. I have owned it for seven years and hardly driven it. I bought it at 77, 000 plus miles and it is still showing 77, 000 plus miles .
The car is in very good condition and has never been renovated and does not require renovating-hence the reason why I purchased it as I did not want to spend years renovating a car. It was one of three best samples I have ever seen . However, it has been re-sprayed at one point and is very shiny. It appears the seats have been re-covered and door cards replaced. The carpet has definitely been replaced and appears like new.
The car is solid underneath and has been under sealed very well. The gaps between panels are excellent and I would say they are as good as new. The chrome work is in reasonable condition but not worth chroming due to having no rust. One overrider on the front bumper is slightly rusty. The car has had very little welding done underneath to a very high standard but not extensively and I would say approximately less than 5% of the area underneath has been welded due to the car being kept inside.
I have been told that it requires one front track control arm which are available from the Ford Consul Capri club. There are light dents in roof as per photo. I have not done anything to this car since purchase due to the very good condition of the car apart from replacing a battery.
This is a very rare example of a classic car. Viewing strongly recommended. Just buy, drive and enjoy rather than buy a car and have the hassle of years of renovating it. Please pay £500 deposit via PayPal and the balance by bank transfer
