Description
Austin Healey Sprite Mk1, first registered on January 1st 1959. Cherry red with red interior.
3 previous owners. Comprehensively restored during the period 2007-2013, and remaining in excellent overall condition. Little used during subsequent years; recommissioned by me over the last 12 months, with all new fluids, brake shoes, front dampers and tyres. Consequently the car starts easily and drives as it should. Oil pressure is good. Twin H1 Carbs were restored by Burlens (manufacturers of the SU carbs) in 2013. Everything works satisfactorily except the fuel gauge (or sender unit)
Original Steel bonnet
Soft top in good condition, with clear windows
Side screens with new perspex windows
Factory hard top in Old English White, with new rubber seals
New full tonneau.
New Continental radial tyres
Maniflow exhaust
Period Blaupunkt radio in good order.
Fitted with a Moto-Lita steering wheel; the original steering wheel (now rare), in excellent condition, is included in the sale, along with some spare door pocket/ cards and various bits of trim and carpet.
The history file for the car includes long lists of parts. Please note that the recorded mileage is not necessarily correct. In summary, this is a well-sorted car ready for enjoying. Support and parts for these Sprites are readily available and maintenance is fairly straightforward. I am 6' 1" tall, and I fit fine - the smaller steering wheel helps. Headroom is fine when the hardtop is fitted, making for a snug cabin in colder weather.
