Description
1984 Lotus Esprit Turbo having had a full engine rebuild and suspension refresh.
The engine was rebuilt in 2020 by Barry Ely personally. The engine was completely stripped and rebuilt using new Nicasil liners, forged pistons, Big End and Main bearings. Full rebuild all evidenced on invoice totalling over £20, 000.
New Alunox full system including manifold.
New Gaz shocks, uprated coil springs and bushes together with full Geo set up ensure the handling is as it should be.
Barry Ely, with over 40 years experience of Lotus cars, said he believed the car drove better after the rebuild than it did when it came out of the factory in 1984.
A total of almost £30k spent in the past 5 years.
Paintwork is good but has a few areas that could do with a little attention.
Interior is clean and in good shape for a 40 year old car.
Will attain classic car status in January 2025 so no road tax to be paid from next year.
Last serviced in June 2024 by Esprit engineering with an MOT expiring in June 2025, after which she will never need another. The 1980's Gigario designed Turbo is an undervalued classic still. It's Roger Moore/ 007 connections will make it timeless. The car drives beautifully and turns heads wherever she goes. It is very unusual to find one that is mechanically in such good order as this one and that drives/ handles as it did when it was first delivered.
A true 1980's Icon.
