Description
Donald Munro was well known in post war sporting circles and he saw the potential of the TA14. In 1952 he commissioned a new bespoke drophead body to replace an accident damaged body that had to be removed from a chassis he acquired. The replacement stylish body was built by Jarvis of Wimbledon. Once completed the car was evented at many venues including Prescott Hill Climb. The car was featured in the Autocar dated 26th March 1954. This car disappeared for some thirty years and was rediscovered recently. I acquired it and have since had the engine running although the water pump leaks. The body is aluminium and has an aluminium hard top. The vehicle needs complete restoration - I have researched the necessary parts which I have found to be available. I have owned many Alvis cars over a lifetime as a classic car enthusiast. This car is a truly exciting project which, owing to my advancing years, I have come to realise I sadly cannot take through to completion. This unique car - when restored - will be an incredible car to own and drive
