Description

Triumph TR6 road legal championship winning competition car.
A very well known and seriously competitive 180 BHP TR6 sprint and hill climb car. A national TR Register Championship Winner for two years and runner up for one year. We purchased the car as a joint ownership in 2023 following its success by the previous owner. Just two events were entered by us and achieved class wins at both Castle Comb and Goodwood. The class record at Castle Combe and Goodwood is still held by this car. The car has an amazingly powerful torque at low revs which makes it a very practical road going car as well as the seriously competition car. The car was initially re built in 2000 with a major input from Revington TR and at a cost of over £50, 000 ( then !!) The previous owner purchased the car in 2013 with only 2000 miles on the clock since the rebuild and carried out extensive work to modify it for hill climbs and sprints, then maintaining it over his period of ownership. He only sold the vehicle to pursue other sporting interests.. Unfortunately, now due to health issues I am unable to compete so we must now regretfully part with this very exciting car. The performance and achievement of this vehicle is outstanding.

Specification -
Chasis/ Running Gear -
Reinforced standard chassis with full steel body shell.
Racetorations full under dash roll cage with removable door bars ( but no windscreen hoop) this gives you lots of stiffness and frontal protection in an impact but doesn't get in your site lines or means you can't use a soft top. ( This cage cannot be used for circuit racing)

Full Revington 'Targa' suspension front and rear which includes _ Springs, ( new in 2022) AVO adjustable Shocks ( factory rebuilt in 2022) F&R roll bars &shocks and springs attached to rear trailing arm allowing over driveshaft rear ARB.

4 x 5. 5J/ 15 proper minilites with Avon CR6ZZ 185/ 70 road racing tyres ( soft compound )new in 2022. Steel spare with older CR6ZZ.

'Quick' steering rack installed in around 2022

Every movable bush is Superpro poly ( superior to polybush)

All the above makes for a superbly handling car.

Brakes -
All renewed in 2022

Coopercraft front ally 4 pot calipers and standard discs, plus rear drums both with Mintex linings/ pads, all new in 2022. All generates very effective breaking.

Engine -
2593 cc. 180BHP. Fast road engine built by Revington in 2000. Approximately 22, 000 miles since. Refreshed in 2022. Includes Stage 4 gas flowed head, rally cam, standard rockers, forged allow pistons, tufrided crank, special lightened steel/ ally flywheel, new clutch with Revington Annular Clutch release bearing. ( original clutch replaced with same when gearbox rebuild in 2022 as its so effective and light ) Full wasted spark EFI system mostly renewed in 2022 with new spark pack, new ECU, New 4 point injectors, cold start system and rewired. ( All by Lloyd developments in Warminster ) 6/ 2/ 1 exhaust manifold into custom Janspeed single pipe exhaust. Regularly measures 92 decibels and sounds very sweet and effective.

Gearbox and Overdrive -
Rebuilt in 2022 by Hardy engineering ( renowned classic specialist) with strengthened parts as necessary and overdrive upgraded with firmer cones so now changes instantly on full throttle. Diff was rebuilt by Hardys about 6 years ago with a 4. 1 CW&P replacing the standard with a very effective Torsen LSD.

General Body etc.
Car has all standard interior, albeit a very classy walnut dash was installed just to show some modesty for this wolf in sheeps clothing. The trim and carpets are tired. There are TR leather bucket seats with headrests. ( would cost around £3000 now to replace) but they are extremely comfortable for armchair racing.

Inertia reel belts both sides for normal road uses. Plus a full 6 point harness on the drivers side only for use when competing. Extinguisher clipped to floor in front of passenger seat.

Body is Old English White which has been refreshed and generally in very nice condition.
Included in the price is :
- One spare set of four spoked alloys fitted with hardly worn Toyo Proxes Cf1 Tyres for general road
use.
- Two fibre glass front wings and one fibre glass boot lid.

There are a mountain of original bills and more recent ones all totaling now over £60, 000 !
