On December 1, 2000, the first lucky owner entered the dealership to take delivery of this car, enveloped in a delightful fresh gray/ anthracite interior. The story and rich history of this car can be extensively recounted in the showroom in Katwijk, where it is now on display.
A powerful racing beast
The TVR Cerbera Speed 6 is powered by a potent Speed 6 TVR engine, coupled with a five-speed gearbox. No traction control, no ABS, no airbags - TVR stands for pure driving. With nearly 350 horsepower under the hood and a top speed of almost 300 km/ h, the Cerbera is a true beast, capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/ h in just 4. 2 seconds. And all this with a relatively light weight of 1130 kg.
But that's not all the Cerbera had to offer. TVR had the idea to create a variant of the Cerbera that would blow everyone away - the Cerbera Speed 12. A twin Speed 6 engine producing around 840 horsepower. 2. 9 seconds from 0 to 100, with a body weighing 1000 kg and a top speed exceeding 385 kilometers per hour. Unfortunately, only 1 of these Speed 12 Cerberas was produced. The then-director of TVR took the Speed 12 for a test run one Saturday afternoon. An hour later he was back at the factory, saying they wouldn't be making the car. "It's a monster, I don't want to be known as the car company where everyone dies," he said. Faster than the then-world record holder, the McLaren F1 in all aspects and also affordable. TVR did produce a number of Speed 12 racers. However, these were not Cerberas.
