Description
A lovely example of an Alfa Roundtail Spider - this is a right hand drive 1967 model with 5 gears and a wonderful 1600 cc twin-cam engine.
The car has been lovingly cared for and is in great condition. It has been garaged throughout my ownership, and I have had significant body, mechanical and electrical work carried out over the years. I have the full history of the car going back many years earlier than when purchased it.
The car turns heads wherever you go and really does stand out - they are not very common on the road, but are instantly recognisable thanks to their beautiful and distinctive Pininfarina styling - and of course The Graduate! Renowned for their balanced handling and nimble performance, it’s a really great and fun car to drive and puts a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel.
This Spider is ready to be driven and enjoyed immediately. No need for restoration projects – just pure driving pleasure! The car was first registered in November 1967 in Newark USA (despite being right hand drive), and then imported into the UK in 1969 (hence the G-reg plates). I have owned the car since 2010 - I registered it in Guernsey for a few years when I lived there, then re-registered it back with the DVLA when I returned to the UK in 2014 (and got back the original registration number).
The bodywork was extensively restored in 2015 with a full respray. Around that time it also went to Alfaholics for mechanical and electrical work including a new set of tyres.
More recently it went back to Alfaholics for a full mechanical review last autumn and had a whole host of work carried out costing over £10k, including a new brake cylinder, rear propshaft, Alfaholics fast road suspension kit, brake caliper/ discs, improvements to the roof seal/ hood catches, new seatbelts (including new fixing points), new hubcaps.
Full details covering all of these works available on request.
I have an older radio for the car not shown in the pictures. I also have the original manual and jack (the latter can be seen in the photo of the boot). I also have the cover for the roof when it is folded down. These all came with the car when I bought it and I will pass them on with the sale.
