Where do I start with this? You should see from the photos that this is a stunning example, and looked after, solid classic car ready to be enjoyed. I know I have enjoyed my ownership.
It's in very good condition, from the underside having new cills to the sunroof that doesn't leak.
When I bought the car it was suffering from the usual missing teeth on the window winders which I replaced with fully working examples. It's a time consuming, knuckle cutting, hand bruising job but one I couldn't have left.
The brakes needed some T. L. C, so they're now cleaned up with new discs and pads. It stops really well now. I also found some period correct, genuine wheels for the car. Freshly powder coated with new tyres. These are including the quite rare, and rather expensive centre caps.
I've given the engine the once over, finding a faulty O2 sensor to replace along with a new alternator belt fitted with a full service. Ive also had the rocker cover coated to really smarten the engine bay.
Interior wise, it's very nearly faultless with original everything, other than an aftermarket radio. I don't use the radio myself anyway so its not bothered me. I much prefer listening to that 1600cc AW11 4A-GE.
I really would advise you to take a good look at the photos just to show how good this example is, especially with its colour being a very rare Sherwood Green. There are far too many good points to witter on about in the advert.
Comes with a fresh MOT, there are two keys present, original owners documents with folders packed full of various documentation.
Viewings welcome. I've always loved classics, from building a mini clubman 1275 GT with my dad to driving around in an MG Midget. Even now, I'm a competitive rally driver in a MK2 Escort. But when I took this for a drive it felt completely different to anything else. It's spritely, nimble, sounds amazing, and boy does it turn heads! The most unique thing about my car has to be its age and colour. You just don't see Sherwood Green examples come up for sale. Being one of the first examples of the mr2, its nuances and differences between all the others i'd seen really drew me in. Even down to the different clocks used for the tachometer on the early models.
It's time for a change though. I've had my fun and it really should be enjoyed by another.
