Beautifull Daimler SP 250 "Dart. The SP was intended to conquer the American market. The SP 250 was made in small series (1200 LHD, 1445 RHD, so 2645 total). It is a fast sports car with polyester bodywork. The engine is the well-known V8 Hemi 2548 cc.. Factory quote top speed 200 km/ h. This 'Dart' is one of the first. It is a spec. A, number 100308. It was produced on May 5, 1960 and delivered to Skyview Motors, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. It is left-hand drive (LHD).
In 2015, the 'Dart' was completely restored body off (including the engine) by a renowned specialist in SP' s. It was painted in deep black. Together with the beige interior, this car equals the SP' s used by the Metropolitan Police. The restoration has brought the SP to concours condition. Perhaps more importantly, the restoration has proven durable. No osmosis of the paint (a known shortcoming of the SP), a fully rigid body (so no doors jumping open etc., also a known shortcoming of the SP). Since restoration, the car has driven about 7, 000 km. It is still in perfect condition.
The car is in completely original condition. This SP was originally delivered with heater and windshield wipers (were optional). The car has wire wheels and a tonneau cover. Interior and exterior are in top condition. The reason for selling is my age and plans to move to a smaller house.
A Heritage certificate and a photo book of the restoration are included.
