I am sadly selling my 1960 Triumph TR3A to make way for something new. I have enjoyed this car for the last 10 years and it has been almost faultless throughout my ownership. Professionally dry stored from September to May every year and garaged in the dryer months.
Originally a USA car, KSU 402 was imported into the UK by a well known Triumph specialist of it's time in 1987 and treated to a light restoration. She is totally rust free and drives like a dream.
Later in it's life, the car was purchased by a good friend of mine who was the sales director of Fiskens of Kensington, a well known TR3 collector. He enjoyed the car for many years, competing in rallies all over the world in her.
I purchased the car from him approximately 10 years ago and carried out a partial restoration in 2021, headed up by Hollier & Sons in Birmingham. They carried out a photographic restoration including full bare metal re-spray in a slightly darker Brooklands Green. Replacing the door sills and generally giving the car a mechanical overhaul.
App controlled immobiliser was fitted along with new mohair hood and tonneau. I also new windows at the same time and had the speedo, rev counter and steering wheel refurbished and re-cabled.
In the last few years, the car has been mechanically maintained by John's Motors in Nothamptonshire, who is a well known vintage Jaguar, Mini and Triumph specialist.
It has just had a new clutch fitted and is about to have a few minor leaks repaired too in time for the summer. Last year, I had the overdrive unit removed, sent off and overhauled.
The interior remains original in black leather with green piping and is in very good order throughout.
I have also fitted a modern stereo which is hidden in the glove box, with a speaker concealed under the dash. Electric heating is also fitted along with a Kenlowe and the car has also been converted to waterless coolant.
A beautiful car, which turns heads wherever she goes. A fast, beautifully sounding and exciting car to drive that will put a smile on your face whenever she's driven.
