Description
Very rare Italian Capriolo 75cc four speed lightweight motorcycle. These were very successful in the Moto Giro and Milano Taranto back in the day. This machine has done two Giro re-enactments prior to my ownership. Condition appears to be fairly original (they call it patina nowadays) and as far as I can tell is to original specification. Engine is an unusual in line crank arrangement and employs 'face-cam' valve operation ( a form of overhead camshaft). The engine runs and has a distinctive lively sound to it. All gears select OK. The clutch needs attention as it is very stiff at the lever. Also the kickstart splines are worn and the lever needs a repair. Needs a brake cable and lights are not wired in.
With a little bit of work should make an ideal mount for tiddler runs or just to show as something really out of the norm. Parts are available from Italy and there is a Capriolo club over there who are usually keen to help. I have V5 in my name. Am open to sensible offers. I also have a fully restored Capriolo Sport for sale, see other listing.
