Description
The car was professionally built in 1998 by Ashton Keynes Vintage Restorations Ltd. near Swindon, using a modified Triumph Herald chassis and Mk2 GT6 engine and running gear. The engine was re-bored to +. 020" oversize, with new pistons, bearings and a re-ground and balance crankshaft. The cylinder head was re-faced to -. 006" and fitted with unleaded valves and seats.
The body is 12mm plywood covered with textured vinyl cloth. The louvred bonnet and side panels are aluminium, the cycle wings, radiator surround and oil cooler housing are all steel. The windscreen scuttle is the only GRP panel on the car.
The car has been recently re-commisioned after 5 years in storage following the death of the previous owner. The car has a recorded mileage of less than 4000 miles and its exceptional condition is a testament to the quality of the build.
The car is MOT'd till 31st August 2025. The car is road tax exempt. There is an extensive history file, including old MOTs confirming the mileage, along with invoices and statements of accounts from the coach builder, detailing every aspect of the build process.
Paperwork also confirms that the car was previously exported to Argentina in 2002 and then reimported to the UK in 2005 by the original owner.
