Description
This is a rare piece of soviet automotive history, with fewer than 100 of these currently registered on UK roads - it turns heads wherever it goes
With its RWD setup and total weight at just over 1000kg, its a blast on the B roads, and has enough power to get you points for speeding on the motorway
It's a LADA - they're simple beasts not wanting for much, and should something need replacing, parts are readily available online
UK PAPERWORK PRESENT AND IN ORDER
1982 VAZ 2106 (referred to away from home as a LADA 1600 if I'm not mistaken) reluctantly for sale, lots to know about it:
Made in USSR, LHD 1. 6 Carburetted 4spd Manual, 5 seater (with 4 seatbelts) VAZ 2106, ULEZ, Road Tax and MOT Exempt (about £5k in savings if you drive into the ULEZ zone every day for a year), I'd say this is one of the cleanest examples in the UK, definitely the cleanest one for sale right now
I bought, restored (I have photos of progress along the way, right from the beginning), drove back from Belarus solo, and imported it (i have the V5C and plates for it now) into the UK myself, selling due to not being able to afford insurance (Location and age arent playing into my favour, its very cheap if youre above 25....), list of repairs are as follows (if item is marked as "New OEM" - that component/ s was made in the USSR, as opposed to being made in Russia recently):

Work done includes:
Reupholstering of seats
Repaint of car in factory colour code
Repaint of wheels (it was cheaper to buy new ones, but these stock ones allow you to mount the hubcaps without any drilling/ fittings, so I decided to repaint these instead)
Tow hitch has been rewired, haven't connected a trailer but fully working according to my multimeter
Parcel shelf has been reupholstered
Door cards reupholstered to match seats
Doors have been waterproofed to prevent leaks into interior
Carburettor has been removed from the car, cleaned, and retuned
All electrical work has been done by me, with the intention of keeping the car for myself for years to come - there wont be any issues there, I can tell you that for sure
Cam rockers have been gapped
Can't remember if there was anything else done, best to come to see it person, I'll be able to just point at everything thats been done
Car is virtually rust free (there was a bit of rust, but its been removed and patched before painting, and the original owner had the underside coated, the paint underneath it is pristine)
Was owned by a doctor prior to me buying it, garage kept and only driven to the dacha during summer
All the bodywork is original, and the car wasnt painted before I had it resprayed
I've got several cardboard boxes worth of bits n bobs, I can throw them in with the car
