Description
Ford GT40 MK1 Rare example of the original Ford GT40 MK1 that left the factory on 23/ 12/ 1966 and was first registered in America by a well-known racer in 1970. It was used in competitions and also homologated for road use. In 1971, following an accident on the track, the car was converted to MK2 bodywork and a new, larger 5200cc engine was installed, combined with a ZF front-mounted racing gearbox.
Later that same year there was a change of ownership, the car arrived in England to a new owner who used it on city roads for several years and then sold it in Italy. The car has taken part in numerous races in Italy and has a Technical Passport with FIA and CSAI homologated Fiches for registration in national and international competitions such as Goodwood, Le Mans Classic and historic re-enactments.
