Description
Unique hand built boat tailed car based on a Triumph Herald 1200 with Herald chassis and running gear.
Not a kit car, it was built by Barry Nevett (Preston area) between 1990 and 2000 when he took it to a local car show where he described it as a Nevett Special. There is a history file of sorts covering the build time including design influences/ drawings and some receipts from a previous owner of the Herald in the 1980s but nothing between 2000 - 2012 when I bought it.
The tub of the car is wood, the rear wings and radiator cowling are steel and the front wings are purpose made aluminium. The chassis is in excellent condition. Overall the car is good condition but is not perfect. There is scope to improve it further.
In my ownership 4 new Pirelli tyres have been fitted, the body of the car has been covered in leathercloth, the bonnet covered in stainless steel and further detailing/ trimming/ painting carried out. There is a hood frame but no hood but there is a tonneau cover.
It now also has electronic ignition, a high torque starter motor, new battery, new clutch and the carbs rebuilt. MOT until April 2025 with no advisories.
Mileage listed is believed to be since the rebody/ build.
Runs and drives well but just not getting enough use so needs to go to someone who has time for it.
It's a real head turner with loads of character!
Kept garaged since bought in 2012.
The private registration in the pictures has just been removed and is not included in the price.
Near offers considered.
