Description
Knackered, dented, scratched, rusting old Ford Focus that's been previously used as a travelling shed (so it's got ingrained mud inside) and a moving throne room to a very hairy dog (probably steer clear if you're allergic). It drives, but has recently failed its MOT due to excessive corrosion and various other failures. So it'll need trailering home, because it's not currently roadworthy - unless you want the garage across the road to patch it up, to get its MOT back. They quoted me "at least" £500 to do so.
The only reason it's not going for scrap is because I'm a bit sentimental about the car I've driven for 11 years. Just as importantly, it's at that age (23) where it's starting to become rare. Hopefully, someone might want take it on as a restoration project, and turn it into a future classic car. If no one wants it, it'll soon end up as a banger racer.
To be clear, this would be a big restore project: aside from the rusting outside and underneath, various scrape marks, mud and fur, the left hand doors aren't original, thanks to a disagreement with a skip a few years ago (which is why it ended up being a class D write-off - long since repaired and put back on the road). The central locking doesn't really work, and the air conditioning unit is long-since disabled after a failure. And there's some minor interior damage to the interior door panelling, due to an accident involving closing a door on the end of rake. The seats (and interior roof) are also somewhat stained, due to dog damage and mud. Oh, and the registration plates are falling off. Other than being a long-term survivor of previously-popular model of car, it isn't really that special. I'm just too sentimental to have it crushed. Hopefully, someone will like it enough to take if off my hands!
