Description
A terrific luxury 2 seater designed and built by Pininfarina for Cadillac. It's a 3 option vehicle, having a removable hardtop, a glass window soft top or use as a full convertible.
The powerplant is a 4. 5L multi point injection system, which makes it very quick off the line as 0 to 60 comes up in 6 seconds. Having said that, it can return 28mpg (Imperial)
This car was zinc dipped before assembly, which continues to show the body as rust free throughout.
A new set of Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric tyres have been fitted that helps you to stick to the road like glue.
You are welcome to bring your mechanic with you to look over the car that also comes with a full workshop manual plus an owners manual. Cadillac wanted a sports car, it hadn't built one since the 1930's, a fantastic V-16.
Having history with the Ferrari Testarossa designer: Pininfarina, they were funded by Cadillac to build a new factory to produce the Allante.
Amazingly, when complete, the cars, 56 at a time, were loaded onto a cargo 747 to be flown to Detroit to have the engine and driveline installed. This exercise put $6, 000 on each car.
This was the most expensive vehicle Cadillac had ever made, costing $130, 000 in todays money. However, it was so fully loaded with extras as standard, the only option available with the salesperson was a Motorola phone. I have this item, alas, the network it used no longer exists but good to see if displaying the car.
An Allante crossed the block at Barrett Jackson last year and sold at $40, 000. I believe my Allante is every bit as nice as that one.
