Description
For sale we have this stunning little LHD 1942 Willys MB Jeep.
The Jeep benefitted from a full chassis up restoration in the 80s and 90s, all carried out by the owners late father. From what we can see the work was carried out to a good standard however history doesn't relate the exact extent of the works. Nevertheless, there is no rust to speak of and having just benefitted from a light recommission we can confirm that she runs and drives beautifully.
Externally, the paint is in used, but reasonable condition, she has a few chips and scrapes, but nothing untoward and it all adds to her patina and character.
The interior is in great shape, with a good canvas hood, and all seat covers in great order. All dials switches and controls work are all present and correct and work as they should.
The engine and mechanicals have just benefitted from a light recommissioning by ourselves. During this she received a full service (all fluids and greases changed plus all filters) She has received a full carburettor rebuild, a new fuel pump, a fuel system flush, valve clearances set, a new set of plugs and a distributor freshen up, starter motor rebuild amongst other bits and pieces. Along side this, we have old invoices and some history showing considerable works where carried out to the braking system circa 2018.
To drive, the jeep is a charm, she starts on the button hot or cold, there are no funny noises, wines or whistles. She selects all for gears nicely, 2 and 4 wheel drive and hi and low gears with no fuss at all. All the 6V electrics all work, and she's benefitted from a new battery and fuel level gauge.
All in all, a real pleasure to drive and a very honest vehicle looking for her next custodian to get out and enjoy!
She will come complete with a set of brand new bar grip tyres, a selection of spades, the axe, plus wet weather gear (as pictured)
Viewing available on and off a ramp as required.
