Description
This unique Shelby Daytona Cobra all aluminum recreation is built 2015 to the
highest standards, and it is accordingly approved and road registered as a 1965
vehicle. The car is FIA–HTP approved (till 2026), and thereby race approved to enter
any of the major international race events e. g. Goodwood.

The car is identical to the original world-champion car, except instruments (Stewart Warner,
original) and a collapsible steering column. Thoroughly examined by historic racing specialist
Pekka Nystrom.
Engine: 8 cylinder V8, 4 727 cm3, with 348 hp at the wheels (est 415 hp at engine).
Torque ca 500 Nm at 4500 rpm.
Transmission: Front engine, 4 gear manual gearbox, rear wheel drive.
Wheels: 15 inch center locking rims, front 7, 5 inch and rear 9 inch tires.
Measurements: Length 422, Width 173, Height 122 (cm). Weight 1050 (kg).

As the Cobra roadsters became an instant race success in USA but it soon was obvious that at
around 240 km/ hr it hit the aerodynamic wall. However big engine, it couldn’t go much faster!
The task to solve the aerodynamic dilemma, came on the then 27 years old Pete Brock.
During the autumn/ winter 1963-64, he and the driver Ken Miles, inspired by Ferrari, Maserati
and Aston Martin race cars, developed the prototype no CSX 2287. At the first test run in
February 1964, the car reached a top speed of 294 km/ h, way faster than any previous Cobra.
At the premier race Daytona 2000, it took pole position, in front of Ferrari 250 GTO. Unfortunately it didn’t finish this race. But 5 weeks later it won at Sebring, and the success was a fact.
It beat the Ferraris at Le Mans, and in 1965 it became world champion. Totally six original
cars was produced.
