Description

Generally the V7 SPORT frame ID starts with VK11111 and this vehicle belongs to the first 90 bikes numbered 111... The MOTO GUZZI Certificato di Origine for this bike confirmes the the built and the transfer to a privileged dealer in 1971. Since 1998 it belongs to the #lighthousemoto collection. Before that it was curated in the Formentini collection. Formentini aquired the bike at his home dealership Officina Libero Galanti, a real GUZZI-specialist at that time and ever since.

This gem is in a beautifully conserved condition. It has a german vintage
registration. Up to now the bike is curated very carefully with short pleasure rides and starting machine motions every once a while throughout the last five decades. Doing so the bikes speedo shows 10936 km. Only minor dents from a fallover while standing are visible on the right toolbox and on the LAFRANCONI-silencer. There is some chrome missing around the left mirror thread. It runs on METZELER ME77 giving the bike a perfect historic match and a super handling at the same time. Some beautiful contemporary motorcycle magazines are completing the bike.

Seize the opportunity to own a piece of motorcycle history! In 1971 MOTO GUZZI celebrated the 50th anniversary of their foundation in 1921. For this golden jubelee the company demonstrated all their capabilities and heritage in one „MAXIMOTO“ – the red framed 750 V7 Sport with lemon-green tank. With this GUZZI had a citation of all the beautiful Otto Cilindi V8, Dondolino, Gambalunga, Bicilindrica plus many more in one superbike. It was presented 1971 at the MILAN MOTORCYCLE SHOW. At the same time the predesessor of the LE MANS was born!!! What a hit in retrospect. To give the bike a special vibe, GUZZI´s famous Lino Tonti (known from BIANCHI, AERMACCHI, PATON and LINTO) designed an all new tight-fitting frame (now Tonti-frame) around the already existing but for this case slimmed down and reinforced 90°-engine and 5speed-gearbox. The MOTO GUZZI frontbrake was 4LS, backbrake was a 2LS!. Everything came along with a complete new tank and saddle design, instruments and swan-neck handlebars. As red and green colours played a major role in the company's model and racing history, the livery was painted in both colours at the same time. 150
red-framed bikes were hand-mounted in the Reparto Esperimenti with maximum respect to tolerances and quality in „Prima Serie“ to gain the series-status for long-distance racing bikes. 1972 GUZZI already switched the following lot to black frames and assembled those bikes on the regular production line.
