Description
Purchased by me in July 2014 as a project, I undertook a meticulous chassis frame up restoration which took 3 years. Having retired from 40 years in the motor industry I needed a new challenge.
The main restoration details are;
Chassis aligned by Russell Truman and painted 2 pack gloss black
New ash frame including doors by Enrique Linares, his penultimate TC frame before retirement
Panelled in Aluminium by myself, described in TTT2 issues 35-38 April-Oct 16
New front wings in steel
Paint British Racing Green 2 pack
Seat cushions by Kimber Creek, Indiana to match original foam density
Trimmed in Bridge of Weir Poppy red leather, by PJM, no vinyl
Wool carpets in dark green bound in Poppy red leather
Half tonneau in dark green
New wheels MWS
New tyres Ensign
Differential, rebuilt by Roger Furneaux with higher 8/ 37 Ratio
New half shafts, hubs x4 and spinners from Orson
Rear axle oil seals and nuts from Roger Furneaux
New loom by Auto sparks including indicators
Brake and fuel lines new, correct specification with protection coils
Radiator and fuel tank rebuilt by Tony Wilder
All chrome stripped and re-plated
Period correct pressed number plates
Dash board veneered in birds eye maple by Enrique Linares, book matched
New stainless steel exhaust system, Octagon
Starter motor and dynamo rebuilt by Chris Wallis
4 dampers rebuilt by VCSA
Instruments rebuilt by Speedograph Richfield
VW/ TRW steering box conversion with CNC machined drop arm
Front axle located by a rose jointed panhard rod
Wiper motor rebuilt by John Hargreaves
Brake master and slave cylinders re-sleeved by Contract Auto Engineering
Gearbox stripped cleaned and rebuilt by myself
Engine, stripped, cleaned and rebuilt. All machining work by Dave Brooks engines, line bored, decked, linered and rebored +0. 060, lightened flywheel, balanced

Cylinder head by George Edney, skimmed, big valves, lead free.
Crane camshaft lightweight followers long pushrods
Oil Pump rebuilt by myself as described in TTT2 issues 53 &54 April-June ’19
Cartridge oil filter conversion with K&N element
Voltage regulator converted to solid state by Oldtimer Elektrik
Fuel pump new Burlen solid state positive earth
All fasteners replaced using correct threads from Namrick
Screen, new glass
Carburettors, re-bushed and restored with Burlen supplied parts in later 3478L Bodies
Correct original FT27 fog lamp. Since completion in September 2017 it has covered 3454 miles including VSCC rallies and scenic tours.
V5C in my name.
Offered for sale only because I have now completed a second one.
In summary a lovely bright fresh example, fully restored using the best parts, suppliers and craftsmen.
