Lotus Excel SE in Blue. Car is believed to have gone round the clock so Odometer reads 32221 and the mileage is therefore 132221.
The current engine was replaced by the previous owner and was from a previous Eclat. This engine is in the car and is currently dismantled and its head removed to be skimmed. In the meantime, I purchased the original matching numbers engine which is with a specialist in the process of being rebuilt. The rebuild will cost £4k and I have already deposited £1k for the sleeves, gaskets and time spent in stripping the engine. Your choice on whether you use the same specialist, but the engine will be provided as part of sale or you can separately agree to continue with the work.
Furthermore, I have acquired a full leather set for the interior (dashboard, door cards etc) that was made by a former Lotus upholsterer and needs to be fitted. The seats have already been retrimmed and the head lining is in great condition. I also have a replacement windscreen.
Car is for sale as I need the garage space. Price reflects the work needed, but all the engine and interior and windscreen are included in the price. Current windscreen has no issues, but windscreen acquired to ensure if the retire caused a problem a replacement was immediately available.
Extensive file of previous invoices and also the parts manual and service manual from Lotus included. The chassis has never been replaced and is completely solid. The car also benefits from a front to back stainless steel exhaust system.
The bodywork and paint are in good condition with the usual 38 year old wear. Not cracked lacquer, just a few nicks from stones. Wheels are in excellent condition with new Toyo tyres.
Electrics all work, including the headlamps. Its a Excel with a fantastic interior and for not a lot of money is a massively useable car.
