1965 Jaguar Type S, 3. 4 litre, Fast Road Special.
This Jaguar has been built to retain its original factory exterior and interior, but has been modified for modern driving.
The boyshell was stripped, new panels fitted included inner cills, crowsfeet and jacking points. Refinished in its original colour of Jaguar Old English White.
Front and rear subframes removed, blasted and powder coated, all bearings, bushes, seals replaced with refurbished calipers, stainless hoses and remote bleed points at rear.
New fuel tank and electronic pump fitted.
Engine, gearbox and overdrive removed and all work done by Sigma Engineering ( Jaguar specialists)
Engine rebuilt to fast road specification with a straight port head fitted, ported and gas flowed.
Crankshaft nitrided, balanced along with the flywheel and clutch assembly.
Diaphragm clutch fitted, new oil and water pumps.
Alternator fitted with electronic ignition.
Gearbox refurbished with new main and lay shafts, new bearings.
Overdrive refurbished.
Refurbished carburetters with manual cold start fitted.
Refurbished distributor fitted with electronic ignition.
Car was set up on rolling road.
Just over 1000 miles completed since, so now run in and delivering full power.
Steering was converted to hydraulic rack and pinion, for effortless and sharp steering and handling.
All new red leather upholstery and new headlining fitted. I have old MOT's going back to the 1980's which indicate the mileage is correct, however, a full restoration of all items has been carried out.
