A very original 1977 BMW r75/ 7.
It’s a UK bike with matching engine and frame numbers which has only covered 5, 845 recorded miles and has just 4 owners on the V5.
I bought the bike in 2015 for a project that I haven’t got round to and feel its best to find it a new home.
The prior keeper bought it in 1989, the log book from then is included along with the MOT certificates from 1990 to 2005 that validate the mileage (May 27th 2005 the MOT shows the mileage as 5, 842). 2005 looks to be the last time it was on the road as the original tax disc is still on the bike. The original toolkit is also present in the storage area under the seat.
Sadly the former owner passed away and I bought it off his widow up in York.
I’ve just had my local garage put a new battery in and spent some time getting it up and running (see video link below), and it runs beautifully. It will however need a thorough going over check brakes, complete an oil change etc to ensure its roadworthy.
The original paint work is holding up well, just a couple of scratches on the tank. The metalwork also looks great for its age. The former keeper kept in a dry garage as I have, so very little corrosion.
As you can see from the original condition of the bike it will only need a clean up, not restoration to get this original low mileage bike back on the road.
