Description

This car has been completely restored, from the bodywork, chassis and engine to the interior. The aim of the restoration of this 500 D was to build a sporty and reliable car, a TR replica, but in a slightly different way.

That's why a sport suspension with disc brakes was added and the original 4-speed gearbox was converted to a 5-speed with a 9/ 38 differential. These changes were made so that the original chassis and gearbox could be easily put back together if one wanted to.

The engine is 800cc with a Monte-Carlo exhaust, originally developed for a Steyr-Puch 650 TR and besides the power increase, it has a very nice sound! The 42hp may not seem like much to today's eyes, but don't forget that this car weighs 500kg! It's perfectly fine in today's traffic, but could also be a good basis for a disc-braked, sport suspension veteran race car.

There is plenty of documentation of the complete restoration, which I will be happy to send you! The car was finished last year and has done 1037 Km since then.

I am selling another Steyr-Puch here as I would like to finish this hobby. Please check that one out too! I would be happy to have both cars for the same owner! Any questions I am happy to answer! You'll love this car because it's a Puch! Steyr-Puchs are the Austrian brothers of the Fiat 500. The bodywork is the same, they were all made in Italy, then shipped to Graz and the Austrians fitted their own proprietary boxer engine, synchronised gearbox and proprietary electronics, and the Steyr-Puch was born. Italian design, Austrian precision, and the result is a very reliable, very cute little car that makes people everywhere smile and everyone happy! The Puchs really are a pleasure to drive anywhere, whether it's a drive in the countryside or any kind of veteran's reunion.

And this car is even more unique because of the disc brakes and 5-speed gearbox, but you wouldn't know it from the outside. Of course, the 4 exhaust pipes and the sound of it shows that it can also go fast when it wants to, and it really likes mountain roads. I always loved the reverse odometer in this car!
