Fiesta 1300 S (sport) 1982

1. 3 crossflow engine, as per original, but had a new engine fitted by ford main dealer in 1990. New clutch at the same time as fitting. Only changes are a K&N filter, and the twin choke was re-jetted and tuned by JPR Tuning (Yate) in October, producing 68bhp and 77. 8lbs of torque (more than factory), but with better economy and cruising revs.

Mk1 Xr2 brakes including drilled, grooved and vented discs and mintex performance pads and nos master cylinder all fitted in November. New ball joints. Although pictured with supersport alloys, it will have freshly refurbished '82 date stamped pepperpots with brand new front tyres and good rears. If it's a deal breaker, I can supply some other supersport alloys.

Sportex exhaust - a little large but sounds fun with a not overpowering tone in the cabin. I would probably swap out for a more standard system personally, just never got round to it. EDIT - will be adding a period exhaust system shortly. Let me know if you'd prefer the Sportex.

Solid shell, no rot, sills etc all good, some very slight surface scabs on quarters and arches but nothing bad at all. Underneath all good. Bonnet has zero rust underneath which is rare. Ziberated from new so guessing that's why it's so solid. Paintwork is bright and shiny but does have odd scratches, pits, scabs etc from being 42 years old.

There is a receipt for some front-end work done in the 90s including new wings and front bumper - otherwise can't see any signs of welding etc. Recently fully lanoguarded including all cavities etc. Has the 'climate pack' option with the headlight washers (I've never had these hooked up as I imagine that's why the front end needed work) and huge washer tank - quite rare in itself!

Interior nice, headlining and carpets all like new, parcel shelf ok, dash has cracks but they all do, seats look to have been re-trimmed in carla cloth which are certainly presentable. I do have the headrest inserts to go with it. Rears are a bit old and fag burned - but has dealer fitted rear seatbelts. Door cards etc all like new. Rubbers all good, and all lights, gauges, dials etc all good. Sunroof doesn't leak. Xr2 steering wheel.

Electrics recently been gone through - everything works except rear heated screen. Spotlamps hooked up, new blade style fuse box fitted (have original if wanted). Ford radio present but not wired in. One headlight a bit discoloured but have a replacement to go with it as well as new indicators if required.

Loads of history including mots, work done and sales receipts etc - including main dealer used vehicle sales invoice from 1984 at £4, 500. 120k ish miles but you wouldn't know it by the way it drives, starts first time, super tight and responsive and nice tight gearbox - plus had the new engine.

Vehicle health report done in October with a few minor advisories on wheel bearings and corrosion on springs (have brand new ones ready to go in from SB Parts). Tax and mot exempt.

Any questions just ask. Viewing welcome but of course no joy riders or tyre kickers. Located Clevedon, North Somerset. Sensible offers considered.

Loads of history including main dealer used vehicle sales invoice from 1984 at £4, 500.

A sporty fun ford, not your grandmothers fiesta, which is great fun on a winding road. More affordable and arguably rarer than an xr2 or supersport (only 4 left total according to how many left), but with no less of the enjoyment or style. Wouldn't cost much to bring back to factory/ concourse. Sad to see it go!
