Description
A very tastefully restored Triumph GT6, completed by the previous owner over a period of 30 years.
SYG511L was first registered in October 1972 and is a home market, GT6 MK3, finished in British Racing Green with black leather interior trim, complimented by a bespoke burr walnut dash, stainless steel and wood sports steering wheel and a smooth 4-speed with overdrive.
A low mileage car, showing less than 78000 original miles from new and supported by a comprehensive history, which dates back over 25 years. Works include a substantial body off restoration, with photographic evidence of everything completed. The car benefits from a full engine rebuild, comprising re-bore with oversize pistons, polished crankshaft, new bearings, unleaded head with new valves and guides. In addition, the car has had the following upgrades:
• Stainless steel ‘6-3-2’ manifold,
• Oil cooler,
• New oil pump,
• Electric fuel pump,
• Electric ignition system,
• Carburettor new heat shields,
• New anti-corrosive fuel pipe,
• Reconditioned carbs,
• Electric cooling fan,
• Moto Lita steering wheel,
• Stainless steel wing mirrors,
• New from brake discs and pads.
This GT6 has benefited from being garaged and only used in the summer months. Subsequently, there are no signs of rust. Maintained by a local classic car restorer, this GT6 has benefited from substantial expenditure over the years, resulting in a very well presented, tight driving car.
Cosmetically, it’s lovely, with great paint and brightwork, complimented by an excellent interior, also fully restored. A GT6 finished in the right colour is a lovely thing to behold and this one looks purposeful, sitting on Minilite style wheels.
It’s an absolute hoot to drive; its diminutive proportions fit you like a glove; in so many ways reminiscent of an mini-E Type, emitting a lovely noise from those twin pipes that leave you smiling from ear to ear every time you drive it. Riding on adjustable Spax dampers, it’s really great fun and represents exceptional value for money.
If you’re looking for a well presented GT6 that’s been comprehensively restored, then this is the model for you.
This is a tastefully restored example to a very high standard, by its enthusiastic owner, finished in one of the most desirable period colours and has been thoughtfully upgraded for the next owner to fully enjoy.
