Description
Triumph Bonneville T120R 1970
A stunning example of this US market motorcycle in Astral Red and peanut fuel tank. This motorcycle has been restored to a very high standard somewhere around 2008 by a previous owner A long list including stainless steel spokes, refurbished clocks, reground crank plus balance new piston's / rings is just a small part of what has been done. The motorcycle is catalogue correct and has been age dated by Roy Bacon in the Isle of Wight, I have the letter to confirm the March 1970, & 649cc capacity and matching engine and frame numbers, starting with CD.
I purchased it in July 2021 after first trip out wasn't happy with the clutch operation and stripped it down and replaced clutch surflex plates and springs etc invoice to confirm this from Tri-supply.
shortly afterwards replaced both the carbs to Amal Premier 930 at a cost of 391. 14 which has made the bike run so much better due to the improved idling circuit inside but retaining the original look.
lots of paper work including invoices from Richard Hacker spares distributor London from when the bike was restored / old mots.
the motorcycle starts easy with its maintenance free electronic ignition and runs fine on e5 petrol due to the ethanol safe floats in the carbs. All the gears are present and it is a pleasure to drive on the road. All the lights and instruments are working correctly.
I am not using the bike enough and have turned my interest to other things and would like to give someone the chance to use it and get some enjoyment from riding or showing it.
please feel free to contact for more information as there is to much to write here, or if you have any other questions relating to the motorcycle. its a 1970 year motorcycle that will require fettling / few tweaks so mechanical knowledge would be an advantage. lovely example great colours and sounds amazing
