Description
The Giulietta (Type 116) is a small saloon produced between 1977 and 1985 by Alfa Romeo. The model was launched in November 1977 and was named after the original Giulietta from 1954 to 1965. It was a new design based on the Alfa Romeo Alfetta chassis (including rear-wheel drive). The Giulietta underwent two facelifts, the first in 1981 and the second in 1983. All Giuliettas used 5-speed manual transmissions, and although it was a classic three-box body, it was distinguished from the others by its wedge-shaped profile and high rear end, which housed a short luggage compartment and a small aerodynamic spoiler integrated into the bodywork. First year The Giulietta was launched in November 1977. Two models were available: the Giulietta 1. 3, with a 95 bhp (70 kW) 1, 357 cm3 oversquare engine, and the Giulietta 1. 6, with a 109 bhp (80 kW) 1, 570 cm3 engine, both Alfa Romeo Twin Cam. in-line fours fed by twin carburettors.
In April 1979, just under two years later, the Giulietta 1. 8 with a 122 bhp (90 kW) 1, 779 cm3 engine was added, and in May of the following year the Giulietta Super with a 2 litre (1962 cm3, 130 bhp or 96 kW) engine appeared. The Giulietta was unusual in that the speedometer turned anti-clockwise, meeting the speedometer needle at the top, rather than the normal clockwise movement. Our Giulietta 1. 6 was sold new under MOCAR and registered in July 1979. It has a service history with the brand and has only covered around 55, 000 km. It retains its original interior intact. The bodywork, which has been little used and well maintained, shows no signs of damage or corrosion.
