The cooling system was emptied, and the brake pads were removed. The last British V5C document, issued in 1986, states an odometer reading of (1)17. 898 kilometres, currently the odometer shows 18. 191. The car has known four British owners, all their names have been recorded in the documentation. The Maserati was sold new in the colour maroon red combined with an Ivory coloured interior. In 2023 the car was auctioned and sold to the Netherlands. This gorgeous Maserati 3500 GT is a complete car and a wonderful base for a full restoration. It is also possible to turn this Maserati into a running driver car with some restoration to parts of the floor and a full mechanical TLC! The bodywork is in a quite sound condition with some bad spots inside and near the wheel arches. It is more obvious that this beautiful machine will be object of a full restoration to 1A factory original top condition. If you wish the car can be fully restored by our skilled team having experience with the Maserati 3500 GT and the Touring Superleggera body construction. The Maserati 3500 GT is a very desirable and rare automobile, only 2226 examples were built from 1957 until 1964. The Maserati 3500GT was one of the most iconic and sought-after Grand Tourers of its time, and remains a coveted classic among car enthusiasts to this day. The body was built by Touring Superleggera on a tubular steel chassis, keeping the car relatively light. This lightweight construction was paired with a potent powertrain, a direct evolution from racing. The engine was a 3485 cc inline-six with dual overhead camshafts and three double Weber carburetors, producing 220 DIN hp at 5500 rpm. It featured twin spark ignition, two spark plugs per cylinder. The car had a top speed of 220 kilometers per hour. Only 2226 of these were built.
