As far as I am aware this is the only Bentley S2 4 door convertible in existence. I only know of one 1955 S1 and about 4 or 5 Silver Clouds that have been converted to 4 door convertibles.
I have always wanted a four door convertible but, no plans were available, so it was a very difficult job because enormous strength had to built into the B pillars.
A major problem was the windows. The glass with frames having to be re made so that they fitted down into the doors. Obviously the original E. motors had to be replaced du to there size.
The mechanical roof mechanism was found in England, from Davis Chapman Auto Design in Kent. He was extremely helpful as he had a lot experience and had converted two Flying Cloud’s himself.
The conversion was completed in the Czech Republic. Engine and gear box rebuilt in England.
