Description
IMMACULATE Right-Hand Drive 1979 Volkswagen Bay window Type-2 Campervan finished in old English White. No expense has been spared on this vintage camper build with over £12k spent on the paint work and over £10k on the interior alone with brand new wasabi green and off white upholstery with matching buddy seat. This historic Volkswagen has been fitted with new internal wood style vinyl flooring, new ‘Starlight Campers’ matching off-white kitchen unit with beautiful wooden counter, new curtains and matching cushions, new Dometic fridge and gas cooker, new diesel heater, cosy LED Lighting, new 12 volt & usb sockets, leisure battery, rear Wolfsburg seatbelts and more. The entire bus was stripped down to a bare shell during the paint process and was painted inside and out including the engine bay. The door gaps are perfect, and all rubbers and seals are new. Chassis and floors underneath the bus are also perfect and it has been fully waxolyed to ensure longevity. Mechanically it’s fantastic with new carb, rebuilt 1500 engine and new brakes all round. The wiring has also been redone with installation of a new loom and all exterior handles, headlight surrounds, and chrome are new. The attention to detail is incredible - we even had the spare wheel cover upholstered to match the vans stunning interior. It’s taken over three years to finish this bus but my wife wants a Motorhome to accommodate our three kids so this is the only reason the bus is for sale. I’m a VW enthusiast and have owned lots of vintage Beetles, Splitties, Karmann Ghias etc (still actually have a good few) and I can honestly say this bus is the best I’ve ever had – the body is like new and its never been welded or repaired – its literally a time capsule body in perfect order. The floors, the sills, the doors are perfect– everything is solid. We finished the van off with brand new period VW steel wheels and new whitewall tyres and the engine purrs along nicely – (a great little puller too – can easily sit at 70mph) The Devon Moonraker style roof has also been fully resprayed and works perfectly with new struts and plenty of space up-top for two people – sleeps four total. The bus has only be driven three times since its rebuild and has always been stored inside a heated garage. This is a rare chance to own a time-capsule VW bus in perfect order – you will find cheaper campers but I’m not sure you’ll find one as solid and well-finished as this. Id almost be so bold to say it’s probably one of the best classic Volkswagen Campers for sale at the minute! No trades and no time wasters please! I also have two 1965s Splitscreen Microbuses for sale with the standard forward facing seats. Super solid historic time capsule that has never been welded. You wont find better! Amazing interior that gives the van a more comfortable and contemporary feel. Why buy a project when you can jump in and enjoy this work of art!
