Description
Beautiful, fastidiously maintained Chimaera 400 in the rare colour of Ellise Violet. Only for sale because of loss of storage and the need for a 4 seater.
He comes with a wad of service history and expenditure from Taylor TVR, X-Works, Peter Smith and most recently John Ashley, where he had a 12, 000 mile service last year, less than 200 miles ago and an oil and filter change on 2nd June 2024.
Immaculate, shiny paintwork, with the only blemishes being a couple of small scratches where a previous owner committed the common mistake of resting the targa on one wing. No stone chips to the valance, sills or wheel arches. Top quality, deep pile wool, TVR branded carpets and very clean undamaged seats. The dash shows a couple of barely noticable cracks. The stereo CD is deafening. He has an aftermarket 'pin pad' immobiliser.
Clean engine bay with Pertronix plug extenders and Caerbont temp guage upgrade. He starts first time, runs lovely and magically doesn't suffer from 'shunting'.
The underneath is in excellent condition and I regularly check and touch up with waxoyl (not underseal!) any exposed areas. A check on the MOT history shows him having an excellent bill of health, apart from the usual MOT station idiot that reported slight surface rust as 'corrosion' a few years ago. This was addressed at the time. The outriggers are original and rock solid.
7mm tread on all 4 (matching) tyres. Fronts are 205/ 45/ ZR17. Rears are 225/ 45/ ZR17. I dont have the original wheels.
The reg P16 TPM is recorded as Cat C back in 2007, but although he is originally a 'P' plate, he didn't acquire P16 TPM until 2014, so the Cat C may be a red herring. Whatever - 2007 was a long time ago and I checked the car meticulously and I can't find any evidence of accident damage. Neither could John Ashley. He is however priced to reflect this. An honestly priced and cherished car who will be sadly missed and is ready to rumble into the Summer.
