Description
For sale is my 1965 Devon conversion Split Screen Camper.
Reduced to £21000 or near offer.
I originally bought this in 2001. Laterly it was sold to my Dad who kept it for many years but I inherited it last year. It has been used very infrequently particularly in the last 10 or so years and now is the time for it to be enjoyed by somebody else.
The camper was won in a competition run by Budweiser and Virgin Radio. The companies commissioned Westside Motors to source and then restore 7 or 8 split screens which would become the competition prizes.
The colour scheme inside and out was the red white and blue of Budweiser.
In 2006ish, the van went off to Paul at The Bus Barn near Bures, Suffolk for some further restoration. Some panels were replaced including the floor and the lower half was repainted.
The interior has the original Devon furniture including bed, table, bench seats, stove, side unit including gas stove and side rack, 2 drawer unit above engine bay and 2 side units, wardrobe etc.
The cab has a double passenger seat with a retro style seat belts up front.
Also a retro style seat belt professionally fitted to the rear (forward facing) bench seat.
In summary, a solid bus in really nice condition in side and out but not show condition. Does not require any restoration work, ready to be enjoyed.
The bus is complimented with a Creative Engineering 3 bow westy style roof rack and bespoke "Creative Engineering single bow roof bar to match, both in polished stainless steel.
Bus is located near Penrith, Cumbria. Happy to collect prospective buyers from Penrith station.
