Description
Trying to reduce my car collection...
Offered for sale is my 1987 Renault 11 TL. I purchased this a few months back but have come to the realisation i own too many cars....
I bought this off a lovely fella in the Midlands who had done a lot of work on it (all documented on a blog ), after buying this from the long term owner, an older gent who owned it over 18 years in central London. The owners son was an avid Renault collector and serviced it regularly (i have his details which i can share with the new owner).
Good points:
- Runs and drives sweet as a nut! You wouldn't believe it's covered 181k miles! Engine is responsive, gearbox and clutch smooth.
- Clearly been well cared for.
- Comes with excellent refurbished alloys with Falken tyres (i have the original wheels and trims too). I'll sell without the rims for £250 less.
- Car appears very solid for its age.
- MOT till Feb.
- Handbrake was sticking, so we've rebuilt the offended drum.
- Lots of spare parts included.
- Very fetching sexy sheepskin covers on all seats.
- Stereo working.
- Doesn't use any oil/ water, no leaks etc.
Not so good points:
- It's lived its life in central London and it shows. There's plenty of dings and marks.
- Various hand painted panels.
- Lacquer coming off on roof.
- Same as my Volvo 343 (same engine i believe), it takes a few cranks to fire. Possible weak fuel pump.
- Few knocks and bangs when driving - possibly needs some bushes replacing?
- Drivers door lock doesn't work from the key (can be locked from the inside). You can see where its snapped off.
- Interior fan noisy & has cut out before (currently working).
- I believe the seats are filthy below the seat covers (previous owner took all carpets out and deep cleaned the rest of the car).
- Wiper blades need replacing.
All in all a very nice little retro classic. I would keep it but have too many cars & my dad needs his drive back....
Collection only please. I can send more photos, videos etc. Viewings welcome (car garaged in my parents house in Oakworth).
Would prefer bank transfer, but happy to take cash. Christmas special price. Treat the Mrs, get her something she'll never forget.
