Description
1958 BSA Bantam 175 D7
Ready to use. Not restored but recommissioned.
Has new crank bearings, rebore and new oversize piston.
New generator and magneto coils but it was still hard to start so now has a coil ignition system fitted, This was done as a temporary measure while everything else was sorted out with the intention of removing it once finished but for now it remains fitted.
We did get all the electrics sorted at one point but currently the light switch seems a bit flaky so could do with a bit of tidying and checking as far as lights and horn goes.
Gearbox layshaft has been changed for the older type of second gear complete with the old type lay-shaft so it now has no problems with the three speed gearbox (I am sure that if you are familiar with Bantams you will understand that). The original layshaft and gear is available if required.
The bike is available for viewing in Nelson Lancs and will be OK for anyone to drive home if they have the enthusiasm.
He is selling because he finds my little Honda to be so much easier to use and ride.
