One of only 287 403’s produced from 1953 to 1955 by The Car Division of the Bristol Aeroplane Company of Filton, England. Bristols appealed to the buyer who wanted the highest level of quality and driveability, and without the ostentation of a Rolls-Royce or a Bentley. Bristol 403’s were hand-built cars with aluminum bodies, manufactured using the lightweight Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, Italy Superleggera construction technique. The 403 2-liter inline three carburetor six-cylinder engine is a highly developed pre-WWII BMW motor producing 105 hp., and has won many races powering BMW 327’s, AC Ace Bristols, Arnolt-Bristols, and Frazier- Nash automobiles. This particular Bristol is fitted with rarely-seen Left Hand Drive. Part of a private collection for the past 25 years, it has been recently serviced and is fitted with five new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The driving sensation is very advanced for a 70-year old car, with light steering, good braking, and a very smooth ride. I have driven this car for the better part of a mile at 65 mph with my hands off the steering wheel, and it tracked perfectly straight. The new owner will receive a thick binder of documentation of this Bristol's history going back to 1953 correspondence between the Bristol Factory and this 403’s original US owner. It includes the original Factory Owners Manual and shop manuals containing Factory Bulletins.
