Description

Here at Carn Bosavern Garage, we have specialised in the restoration of British classic cars for the last 30 years.

Due to a substantial work load, we have made the decision to sell our Jaguar XK150 project. Given the heritage, if you wanted to restore one of these vehicles, then this is the one!

With only 2 owners from new, this matching numbers 1959 Jaguar XK150 3. 4 DHC is an extremely rare home market vehicle. Possibly one of the last un-restored vehicles in the country. It is now for sale!

We rescued this car from a barn in Worcester in November 2020, where it had been stored for almost 40 years (circa 1985). Prior to storage in their barn, the previous owner appears to have briefly started the restoration, with the car pulled apart and the shell sand blasted. We recovered the vehicle and the myriad of parts back to our garage in Cornwall to assess what we had.

We stripped the car down to a bare chassis, which we sent for sand blasting, etch priming, and painting in 2 pack black. As you can see from the photos, this is in very good condition for an original RHD vehicle. The body understandably needs various fabrication works carried out to be a complete structural shell, so we had the body blasted again and coated in etch primer. We purchased over £1, 000 worth of panels from A1 XK?s, who are XK panel specialists, including bulkhead side panel, shut face panels, B post, complete floor panels, tunnel sections etc (invoices again are in the history file), and seam welded them in place.

Along with the original engine, gearbox, axle, wheels, seats, hood frame and gauges, we also have the original chrome work (bumpers, windscreen frame etc) that have been re-chromed (no invoice or date for these works). Understandably as the car arrived to us already stripped, there may be the odd small part missing. However the main items listed are all with the vehicle, however will need overhauling given the car is being sold as a restoration project.

Viewing highly recommended with the vehicle on site at our garage in Penzance, Cornwall. If you?d like to know more, please feel free to contact us. Delivery to anywhere in the country available at cost price.

We have plenty of other photos available, showing the car being stripped down to a bare chassis, which are available on request. A substantial amount of history comes with the vehicle. We have the original buff log book, confirming original registration on 25th March 1959 with a ?3 letter, 2 number? registration. We also have an original MOT test certificate, issued in 1966. The second owner purchased the car on 7th January 1969, as documented in a hand written receipt, for the sum of £130. It since had a later style V5 registration document issued, which again we have in our file, before more recently being issued with a new style V5C document. All information, as well as that stamped on to the original chassis plate (which we have), matches both the vehicle and the records shown on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate issued to us in late 2020.
