Description
Now then. I have owned this car for the last 26 years, it having previously been in long term storage. As you might expect, in that time I have done and had done extensive work on the car which is too numerous to list but with the result that the car is in great condition and first rate running order, with significant upgrades. There is an extensive history file, but the most recent expenditure includes:
- over £12000 spent at Cropredy Bridge in 2020;
- over £7000 spent in the last 3 years with Coleman Classics, a classic Bristol specialist;
- over £5000 spent on bodywork in 2021, including new bumpers, wheel refurbishment and vented bonnet;
- the interior has been reconnolised and new carpets were fitted earlier this year.
The mechanical upgrades include and uprated alternator, an additional Kenlowe fan and ventilated bonnet to improve cooling. Higher compression heads and and Edelbrock carburetor have been fitted and the improvement in performance is notable. The most recent work has involved replacing the propshaft and gearbox mount.
The only fault which I have not addressed is that the air conditioning requires a new pump. I have not fitted this not because of cost but because when the A/ C is running it drains the system even with an upgraded alternator, and particularly in traffic. I open the windows! ( the window motors were overhauled last year and work perfectly ). There is also an intermittent fault with the rev counter.
Just MOT’d in June.
-This is a great car to look at, even better to drive and attracts attention and positive comments every time I take it out.
