Description
I have owned & loved this car for 8 years and for some 4 years it was my daily ride . the other 4 years was Covid and open heart surgery. The reg is BHW 502A. Check with the DVLA as it now shows the mot history. The speedo reading was correct up to the last MOT . For some strange reason the speedo stopped working during the MOT. It as done less than 5 miles since. Back from the MOT station to my home. Home to Tyre garage and back to my home.
This is my 3rd attempt at selling my MITSUKA LE-SEYDE . THE LAST TWO TIMES I WITHDREW IT. Because I really did not want to sell it and I started recommission it. At 83 year old everything becomes a pain in the ass and every other part of your body. To date it as gone through a MOT and as had new rear brake pads. I have also replaced the wire wheels with alloys and 4 brand new tyres, with 1. 5 miles on them. The wire wheel go with car if wanted by new owner.
I have finally thrown the towel in. I am putting up for sale One it takes me hours to do a job that use to take me minuets Two, It is getting nearly impossible for me to get in and out as it is very close to the floor. the last nail in the coffin is the purchase of a new car that is only 22 years old(grin) and I can get in and out of without too much trouble. So what little enthusiasm I had left is exhausted .
1 of 500 Le Seyde made 1st reg in England 04-01-1992 so in it’s 32nd year.
GOOD POINTS. It starts 1st time every-time. Electrics : Everything works including sunroof which does NOT leak. Great sound system with 12 cd player which is installed in boot. The seats which are Ivory coloured are in good condition saying they are 32 years old. The same can be said of the body which is heavy duty fibre glass except the doors which are the original Nissan Sylvia doors. To the best of my knowledge the only part of the Nissan apart from the engine and chassis that was used. I have read that Mitsuka is the 4th largest manufacturer in Japan, they covert 500 cars and they are sold in days.
THE NOT so good.
The speed ohmmeter as stopped working. It was AOK when it went for its MOT but was not working after. Why? your guess is as good as mine.
The chrome is showing signs of old age. There is quite a few bits which are easy to remove and I had intended to get them rechromed.
The bodywork whilst quite solid requires a fair bit of TLC. The gold lining is missing . I have purchased some new and fortunately it will be fairly easy to reapply as the backing lines are still in place .
What few Le Seyde I have seen for sale. All with higher mileage have been between £15000 and £19000. So my asking price gives you a good few thousands to bring my car to its former glory,
Serious buyers only please. I have tried to be as honest as I can. But you are looking at a old car that needs a young enthusiast with a few quid to spare or a rich Japanese man who wants to take it drifting. See the internet very popular car for drifting in Japan as rear wheel drive and long wheelbase .
