An excellent condition and low mileage (76k) UK car, this is a limited edition 1 of only 500 models made between May-Sept 1997. It has the more powerful 130hp 1. 8 engine, Silverstone body colour, special 15-inch sports alloy wheels. Interior trim feels luxurious with burgundy leather seats, walnut console and Momo leather steering wheel. Full 12-month MOT till August 2024 and no advisories.
There is no rust or corrosion on the underside, arches or sills. The car drives superb, with smooth gear changes and a stainless steel sports exhaust which has a great sound. The engine bay is entirely original which is unusual to find.
Many original specifications of this limited edition are still present with the car including burgundy floor mats, factory immobiliser (with 2 keys and fobs), power steering, a high-level stop lamp and locking wheel nuts and Harvard wing badges. The car also has a stainless steel style bar fitted behind the seats. The soft top is mohair and in excellent condition with a clear plastic window. The leather seats are in great condition with no rips or tears, matching door cards and all other interior features are working correctly.
Mechanically the car feels fantastic to drive. It has just had a brand new replacement catalytic converter fitted, all the engine bay fluids (coolant, engine oils, brake fluids etc.) are fresh. The rear shocks have also both been replaced and all the brakes recently serviced. The engine revs freely and pulls very strong as drive through the gears.
Car comes complete with original toolkit, spare wheel and jack all present in the boot. The paperwork includes fully stamped Mazda main dealer service history from initial years of ownership, followed by detailed records and receipts for regular servicing and maintenance to date. At the last MOT, the test inspector remarked how well looked after the car presents. Original owner’s manual also included.
