Description
This is a rather unusual Packard Special, unlike most specials that require an uncomfortably close seating arrangement with your passenger, this one allows both driver and passenger plenty of personal space and that's because it's huge!
Length - 4650mm
Width - 1900mm
From the ground to the top of the bonnet - 1250mm
From the ground to the top of the screen - 1470mm
From the ground to the top of the rear arch - 840mm
So, as you can tell, she's a bit of a beast.
Anyone that knows what it means to build a special will recognise the amount of work that's gone into even the most basic things like working doors with nice panel gaps and an enormous fully louvred bonnet stretching out in front, the chassis alterations, body frame, general paneling, even the aero seats and machine turned 10mm aluminium dashboard.
Then there was 2, a second Packard (53 Clipper, last 3 photos) that's running and driving can be bought for £4, 000, this one has the lovely straight eight engine that'll drop straight into the special and bring it to life and, with all the mechanical bits swapped over, the 2nd Packard would probably sell for 2k as a rolling shell.
A very clever painter/ artist has succeeded in making my car look as it it's just completed Dakar which; does make it a little marmite, you either love it or hate it.
The stage the car is at means it could be easily fitted with a V8 or something electric or a monster diesel that you could drive straight through central London and stick a finger up at ULEZ in the form of great columns of black smoke.
I'm ultimately trying to create some space so I'm open to offers but may be interested in a swap or PX, feel free to ask questions. If you're looking at this car as just a rolling chassis with a fantastically dramatic body that's totally unique then you'll be pleased to know that it's 100% solid in every respect.
V5 in my name (both cars) and currently insured.
