Description
Aston Martin DBS6, chassis 5118/ R, built 1968 for home market, it spent the first 2. 5 years in the UK, being looked after by Aston Martin. At 12644miles it was exported to New Zealand where it had 3 owners over the 47 years there until I re-imported it in 2018 when the mileage was 54, 000. I have details of the NZ owners, mileages, and most of its service history UK and NZ.
The car is in its original colour of Celeste Blue. Its registration number was recovered and is the same as when it left the factory. Chassis, engine and auto box are all matching numbers and I have a heritage certificate.
During my period of ownership the car been improved and maintained whilst preserving originality and patina. Work has included new radiator, new hoses, carbs rebuilt, new battery, new tyres ( Pirelli P1's), complete brake OH (new pistons and seals, both servos rebuilt) 5-speed manual box installed, resprayed, rear koni shocker conversion, new SS exhaust system, sills replaced, door seals, king pin gaiters, upper wishbone bushes, anti-roll bar bushes, steering coupling, distributor rebuild, boot relined, interior carpeting.
Tool roll and original fire extinguisher present.
The car is now well sorted, the manual gearbox being a great improvement to its driving pleasure with its lively engine. (The original auto box is in good condition and is included in the sale)
The car has power steering. The wire wheels are sound without any clonks or whiplash. The wheel's chromework is presentable but only that. Other chromework is good to excellent. The passenger door doesn't lock. Being in New Zealand for 47 years saved her from the ravages of salt and she remains rust free.
This is a great car that has retained its patina and gets comments wherever we go with her.
We live in South Oxfordshire if you would like to take a look. NOW REDUCED!
