THE APPEAL
SAAB’s 900 convertible has always been one of the best-loved of the Swedish company’s models, with its svelte styling and premium upmarket image.
Loved by enthusiasts across the world, the soft-top SAAB is a desirable thing – and this one is right up there with the very best in “NG” (or new-generation) 900 terms. It’s a 1998 model, which among SAAB fans is a sought-after thing as the car was given over 800 individual improvements over previous model years, with substantially improved quality and refinement ahead of the 900 evolving into the near-identical SAAB 9-3 later that year.
On top of that, it’s Monte Carlo Yellow – a colour beloved of SAAB enthusiasts and for a very good reason.
R62 KVL is a great example of the breed, sold with a brand new MOT passed with no advisories and owned for most of its life by three-generations of the same family, spending its time between Lincolnshire, Devon and the south of France, which is where it spent most of the 2000s.
As a full four-seater with comfortable black leather trim, it’s the ideal family-friendly summer classic – perfect for the long, warm evenings ahead.
