The Appeal
This Saab 900s Convertible finished in Nocturne Blue looks fantastic with the classic Saab styling, from the deeply curved windscreen to the sweeping integrated spoiler. With legendary build quality (one 900 covered a million miles before being donated to a museum), jet plane inspired looks and a turbocharged engine putting out 144hp it’s easy to see why the first generation 900’s are so well loved.
This particular 900s has only had three owners from new and has been in the same family ownership for twenty years, during this time it has been meticulously maintained as documented by the extensive selection of invoices and service history the car comes with.
The History and Paperwork
- MOT until January 2023
- V5 Present
- A large selection of old MOT’s
- An invoice from 2005 for a new hood
- An invoice from 2016 totalling £6,490 for extensive work including, two new brake callipers, discs and pads, exhaust, windscreen, various suspension and steering components and a full respray.
The Interior
- Good condition for the mileage
- Drivers seat shows wear, but with no rips or splits
- All other seats are in very good condition
- Full leather upholstery
- Everything works
- Carpets, dashboard, trim and door cards are all in good condition
The first time you get into a 900 series Saab the unusual layout of the dashboard is immediately noticeable. The instruments and controls are curved around the driving position in a design inspired by Saabs aerospace history, all of the instruments and controls are positioned relative to the amount they are used meaning the driver has to take their eyes off the road for the least possible amount of time and it works.
The design is one of those things that makes you wonder why we don’t see it in many other cars and it really contributes to the fantastic driving experience the 900s provides.
The leather seats are very soft and comfortable, whilst being supported enough for you to enjoy the brilliant handling the 900s is known for. Whilst there is wear to the driver's seat, there are no splits or tears and all of the other seats show almost no signs of wear at all. The inside of the hood is in fantastic condition and the interior presents well overall.

The Nocturne Blue metallic paint compliments the design of the 900s convertible beautifully and the car presents very well overall. The distinctive Saab shape looks great as a soft top and makes for an excellent car to enjoy the summer in.
The car was resprayed in 2016 and there are some small bumps in the paintwork that the owner informs us occurred shortly after the respray during particularly hot weather, however they are only visible when looking at the car close up and don’t detract from the impression that this car makes.
