Highlights
- Impressive red leather interior
- Unmodified from factory spec
- Unusual gold paintwork, repainted from its original beige in 1999
- Excellent candidate for restoration as vendor reports good mechanical order
The Appeal
Introduced in 1975, the Jaguar XJS is a distinctly modern iteration of the Jaguar line; one that felt distinctly futurist in its aesthetics. Rear buttresses, big pillared headlights and squared arches may not have been a formula to win beauty contests, but it was the perfect ambassador for the future of automotive design, and for many still represents one of the most iconic in Jaguar’s long line of beautifully distinct, irrevocably British cars.
This example comes to us in need of cosmetic restoration, with an unusual colourway and a cracker of an interior. With the car still performing reliably and admirably, the vendor reports it still makes for an excellent drive.
