The History and Paperwork

- Built by Woodley Healey South Africa
- 2 sets of keys with immobiliser fobs
- Full tonneau cover
- Last serviced in 2019
Only used a few times for some classic car touring in Europe the car needs a bit of work to tidy up, or fettle if you prefer, to get yourself a really great fun car for some great open-topped, classic style motoring trips and adventures.
The Interior
- Period and classic interior
- Leather seats and trim
- Wooden steering wheel, handbrake and gear lever
It’s a well-finished and quite luxurious cockpit with some nice blue piping on the cream leather seats and quilted trim to the doors.
The carpets are a nice deep blue and are all in good condition and the period gauges, warning lights and switches are all neatly mounted in the dashboard and fall easily to hand, with the wooden steering wheel finishing the whole look off perfectly.
The Exterior
- Original Healey paint colours
- Chrome wire wheels with spinners
- External trim all in great shape
Painted in traditional Austin Healey colours there’s little to show that this is a tribute car rather than the real thing.
The hood doesn’t fit perfectly but keeps the water out and the car looks much better with either the cream tonneau cover or completely open.
The chrome is all beginning to show signs of some surface corrosion and the stylish front grill needs one of its uprights adjusted but everything else is pretty nice condition.
There are a few marks on the nearside wing, some stone chips, the driver’s door looks like it needs a bit of adjustment, and the chrome rims need some TLC, but that’s all the bad points and none of them should cause much concern.
The other point to note is that the wheels do sit slightly outside of the wheel arches so the arches may need extending, or investigating as to whether there are wheel spacers behind the wheels that could be removed.

The Mechanics
- BMW 325i running gear and engine
- Five speed manual gearbox
- Last serviced in 2019
- ULEZ compliant
The car has only been used for continental touring a couple of times and for the last couple of years it has been garaged and regularly started and run round the block.
It’s a fairly new car with BMW running gear so there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.
It’s reported to run really well and be much quicker than one might imagine, but then if you put a 2.5 litre BMW engine in a lightweight car, it’s going to be quick.
Summary
If you love the classic British roadster look but don’t want the 1960’s mechanicals that go with it usually, then this could be just the car you’ve been waiting for.
